The Difference

Not a videographer for hire. We are a team to help you tell your story.

You run the business and we handle the planning of visual and audio production so the camera never asks anything of you. Calm, guided, and built to feel like you on your best day.

01
Look
Imagery that reads as professional the moment someone lands on it. Before a word is heard or a line is read, the look sets the level: quality, intention, and caliber, all taken in at a glance.
02
Sound
Audio and pacing that make the message land instead of drift. Clean, strong sound is its own mark of quality, and it is what sets you apart from the flood of content people scroll right past.
03
Story
The thread that turns a good product into something worth watching. It ties what you do to the people you serve: how it fits their life, why it matters to them, and why it is worth their attention.
Set the Scene

The story is set before the camera rolls.

Filmmakers call it mise-en-scène, French for setting the scene: everything in the frame, arranged on purpose. The space, the light, the props, where a person stands and how they move. Jared learned it on professional film and television sets, and it is the part of the work most video skips.

Get the scene right and the story is already being told, before a word is spoken. It is also what puts people at ease. Give someone a real setting and something to do, and the camera disappears. Great work is not about the gear. It is about the eye that arranges what the gear points at.

The Craft

Made by hand, frame by frame.

This is real glass, professional cameras, and professional sound, made by people. That human connection is exactly what people are gravitating toward now, when so much of what they see online feels like an echo chamber of generative AI. In terms of AI, we use it to support what we do, while protecting those parts of the craft that make a project feel human and real.

Behind the Camera

The people who tell the story.

Great Green Media is Jared and Jocelyn, a husband and wife team who started the studio after watching too much local marketing that looked good but said nothing. Every project is built around a real story and real collaboration, so the work does not just look professional, it holds attention. The person you talk to is the person on the day and the person in the edit. That is how it stays personal.

Jared Groenewegen, founder of Great Green Media
Jared Groenewegen
Founder & Director

Jared has been chasing the story behind the moment since he picked up his first camera in high school. In 2016 he moved into film and television in Toronto, where years on professional sets, working alongside directors, producers, and cinematographers, taught him the craft that separates a real film from clean footage: framing, lighting, blocking, and keeping every frame in service of the story. His credits include The Man from Toronto, Mayor of Kingstown, and Rabbit Hole, and he writes and directs his own short films, including The Coffeepot and Shipwreck. What that means for you is simple. He is the calm presence who puts you at ease, so the camera catches the real, unforced version of you, and his attention to detail keeps the story focused, so your video looks professional and actually says something.

Jocelyn, Great Green Media
Jocelyn Groenewegen
Partner & Producer

Jocelyn is the reason a day with Great Green Media feels handled. A paramedic by training, she is used to high-pressure situations where being prepared and one step ahead is everything, and she brings that same calm to every project. She plans the details and anticipates what could change, so you can trust the process, feel looked after, and focus on simply showing up as yourself. For the past four years she has built the studio alongside Jared, and on the day she is often behind a second camera, where her eye for composition and her attention to detail make sure you look your best. From the first conversation to the final delivery, she keeps everything clear, personal, and free of stress.

Who It's For

For the business outgrowing its phone camera.

If you are growing and your content still looks acceptable but tells no story, you are losing attention you cannot get back. Great Green Media makes growing businesses look good and sound smart, so the work you are proud of finally reaches the people who should see it.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

The short answers. For more, see Field Notes or get in touch.

What is a brand story video?

A short film built around a true story about your business and the people in it, made so you look good, sound good, and say something worth remembering.

What is the difference between a photographer and a video production company?

A photographer captures what is in front of the camera. A production company finds the story, directs the people in it, and finishes the film to a professional standard.

How much does a video for a small business cost in Ontario?

Generally from around two thousand dollars for a simple piece into the low five figures for a story led film or a full day of filming that produces several videos.

What is included in a video production quote?

Typically story and planning, the day or days of filming, and the edit with colour, sound, and music. Ask any studio to break those out so you can compare honestly.

How do I look good and sound good on camera?

Stop performing and answer real questions like yourself. The biggest factor is being asked the right thing and guided calmly while you answer.

Can you tell the story of my business this way?

Yes. If there is something true and worth seeing about what you do, there is a story in it. That is the work.
